Good design does not have to be expensive. But play up your bargains with one or two wi$h-li$t items, and notice the boost the entire room receives.
Borrow from great photographs in design magazines, don't try to completely recreate the entire look. After all, where would YOU be in a play-by-play of Ralph Lauren's latest ad campaign?
Just because it is old, does not mean it is good. This goes hand-in-hand with another favorite tip to remember. No wood is sacred.
There is great joy in collecting.
Don't put off for tomorrow what can be decorated today.
